Job DutiesThe Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR), located in Burkeville, VA is a behavioral treatment center recognized for its excellence by securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders. VCBR provides recovery, opportunity and support to residents so they may safely return to their communities and is the only facility in the Commonwealth that provides such service.
The Food Service Department strives to efficiently and effectively provide food that meets the nutritional needs of the residents. The department also seeks to provide high customer satisfaction with enjoyable meals and snacks that are on time and the correct temperature.
This position will act as a lead worker assisting managers and is responsible for supervising multiple sections of a comprehensive food service system in areas of hot and cold food production, sanitation, tray line assembly, tray transportation and food storage. This individual may share opening and closing operations management to closely supervise dietary cost control, food security, food quality, quality of service delivery, safety, and sanitation in a 7-day a week, 16-hour a day operation. This position will assist management with customer satisfaction and take an active role in both the identification and correction of departmental improvement plans. This position will provide coverage for kitchen operations and support as needed.
Minimum QualificationsValid Virginia Driver’s license (licensure information must be included in application).
Additional ConsiderationsSafe-Serve certification.
Experience working in a forensic mental health or comparable setting.
Experience working with sex offenders.
Experience working in a Food Service setting.
