Job DutiesWestern State Hospital is seeking a Part Time TDO Coordinator. The TDO Coordinator will serve as the back up to the Primary Coordinators in the WSH Admissions Office and be part of the multidisciplinary team that coordinates primarily TDO admissions to the facility. This position will provide a welcoming and recovery oriented environment while assisting newly admitted patients with registration and admission to the facility. This position will also receive referral calls from CSBs; assess the needs of referrals and recommend alternative placement ideas/resources; initiate documentation on referral screenings; serve as liaison between WSH and other facilities/staff/other collaborative resources; assign unit for patient based on his/her clinical needs; assist nursing staff with verifying legal paperwork; and complete admission/registration of new patients in various databases.
Minimum Qualifications
  • commensurate experience
  • experience working with consumers with serious mental illness (SMI)
  • experience working independently making critical decisions
  • computer experience in a health care setting, such as CSB, hospital, outpatient clinic
  • ability to work flexible schedule
  • experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/interfaces from other software programs (Avatar/Microsoft Office)
Additional Considerations
  • associates or bachelor's degree in human service field
  • knowledge of community resources for the SMI population
  • knowledge of Substance Abuse Disorders and community based treatment options
  • knowledge of programming security access systems
