Duties * Implements and enforces all DOD information system Information Assurance program policies and procedures for the ELAN-SE and other classified ELAN networks as defined by the security certification and accreditation documentation. * Develops IT security plans, policy guidance, operations regulations, and procedures (SOPs) to ensure IA regulatory requirements are followed in supported applications and systems. * Conducts and leads various IA security meetings with organizational elements and IT representatives to plan, evaluate, and determine appropriate measures needed to ensure security requirements are met * Performs studies to monitor and improve or enhance information security-related projects. * Develops or participates in the development of information security hardware and software standards, methods, techniques, procedures, and objectives. Qualifications Basic Requirement: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. In Addition to the Basic Requirements listed above: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience is defined as: Facilitating, developing, and implementing guidance to protect information technology systems; overseeing system security certifications; conducting security audits, and identifying IT risk and vulnerabilities; developing network and system security solutions and identifying security requirements for Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), engineers and integrators.
