Department Of Defense is Hiring a Lead Security Guard (Military Ocean Terminal) with Security Clearance Near Concord, CA

Duties * Use a variety of state-of-the-art physical security equipment to protect MOT national security assets from all threats to include waterborne, vehicle-borne, rail-borne and airborne to include drone technology. * Guards at MOTs routinely participate in antiterrorism committees and fusion cells and directly protect critical resources to include Arms, Ammunition and Explosives, and other classified objects moving through the MOT via rail, ship or vehicle. * Serve as the DASG Shift Leader who is an assistant to the Guard Supervisor with primary responsibility to lead activities of patrols, static posts and harbor security operations. * Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, pilferage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage and to enforce the security and safety regulations of the terminal. * Lead and perform vehicular patrol in restricted and administrative areas of the installation and on harbor patrol watercraft providing security measures for personnel, ships/boats and trains entering the Terminal. * DASG duties are strenuous due to many conditions of employment such as passing an occupational medical exam, taking an annual physical fitness test and working in the elements during both summer and winter. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance. * Must meet the requirement of the Individual Reliability Program in accordance with the Army Regulation 190-56. * Required to undergo and pass a complete medical physical, at government facility at government expense and must also undergo this requirement annually. * This is a drug testing designated position. Individual agrees to submit to a urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with Army Regulation 600-85. * Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. * Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime. * Must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semiannually thereafter in these of assigned firearms/weapons. * Subject to possible civil actions due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the detention of individuals. * Must successfully complete Initial and annual in-service security guard training. * Must successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid training. * May be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton. * Required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of the Physical Agility Test (PAT) in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56. * Incumbent may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. * Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. * Must wear prescribed uniform. * Must participate in regularly scheduled training in the techniques of use of deadly force, anti-/counterterrorism, first aid, firearms, search and seizure, security operations and enforcement of installation rules, regulations, and policies. * Must be in sufficient physical condition to conduct assist in searching vehicles and persons and restraining persons. Infrequently lifts persons involved in accidents/incidents; uses unarmed combat techniques for self-defense to subdue persons. * See "Additional Information" for remaining/additional Conditions of Employment. Failure to meet this requirements could lead to disciplinary actions. * Within the first 2 years, boat crew members, must complete a swim assessment, Basic Maritime Officers course (BMOC), Advanced Basic Maritime Officers course, Rescue Boat Operations course, National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) courses- Basic Crew Member, Boat Search and Rescue and Tactical Operator, Boat safety course and MOT personnel qualification standard.
