Department Of Defense is Hiring a Supervisory Contract Specialist with Security Clearance Near Savannah, GA

Duties * Position requires the utilization of extensive knowledge and understanding of acquisition requirements and practices. * Incumbent contributes to the development of US Army Corps of Engineers guidelines, regulations, and policies in various areas of acquisition policy/initiatives. * Conduct periodic reviews of contracts and purchase actions within predetermined categories based on dollar value, method of acquisition, and other factors. * Participate in acquisition planning, contract formation, partnering, administration, resolution of disputes, and claims by means of issuing Contracting Officer Decisions (CODs) and subsequent contract modifications. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * One-year supervisory probation period may be required if not previously completed. * Incumbent must obtain the Foundational Career Level or Contracting Professional Certification within 3 years of employment. * Incumbent must obtain the Advanced Career Level Certification within 4 years of employment. * Incumbent must obtain the Practitioner Career Level Certification within 5 years of employment. * Selectee must execute a written tenure agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years. BASIC REQUIREMENT for Contracting, 1102: A. bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. However, I am either (A) a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) I am a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000. In addition to the basic requirement, to qualify for the Supervisory Contract Specialist, your resume must reflect the experience that you possess that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of Supervisory Contract Specialist at the GS-15 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service: managing a multi-million dollar contracting program for single and multiple purpose civil works water resources projects such as military design and construction projects, environmental restoration, hazardous toxic and radiological waste remediation; supervising the development and execution of the contracting portion of project management plans and other projects throughout the area of jurisdiction; applying and interpreting the Federal Information Processing Resources standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
