Why does the job exist?

This position will provide highly skilled services to developmentally disabled and / or mentally ill individuals in a residential, home-based & community setting.

Incumbent will monitor individuals medical, physical and emotional well-being, participate in treatment programs and assist with personal hygiene, as well as technical assistance to less experienced technicians.

Incumbent will also be responsible for daily documentation to include services performed, individual's condition and progress.

This is a part-time position working 24 hours a week. These positions will work various shifts that are scheduled Friday through Mondays.

How does it get done?

The key responsibility for this position is to provide and mentor daily living skills while ensuring the health and safety of the individual served.

Employees in this position are required to provide these services in a 24 / 7 setting. This posting will be used to fill multiple vacancies throughout Valencia County.

Who are the customers?

Adult individuals who are developmentally disabled and could display behavioral challenges and / or medical challenges.

Ideal Candidate

Experience working with people with developmental disabilities

Experience working with individuals who are mentally and physically disabled and / or display behavior challenges

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification.

Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training is required.
