Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled and highly knowledgeable Painter to join our team. This position is for a leading custom door and window manufacturer located in the beautiful County of Ventura.
As a LEAD PAINTER, you will be responsible for the painting department as well as performing painting duties such as filling, smoothing, and repairing each product's surface, mixing the coating liquids, and spraying each layer according to specifications. To ensure success as a lead painter, you should have excellent hand-eye coordination, a good knowledge of paint-mixing techniques, and strong attention to detail. A top-class painter should be able to produce even, hard-wearing coatings that exactly match the colors and finishes requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees personnel and is responsible for assignments for the painting department.
- Responsible for training and performance of personnel in the department.
- Contributes to needed employee counseling by company policy.
- Oversee production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Prepares surface for spray painting by sanding, patching, and sealing cracks and holes, scraping, and smoothing surfaces.
- Selecting, mixing paint, and matching colors where exact matching is required (Color Wheel Knowledge).
- Applies paint to window and door surfaces.
- Cleans painting tools and equipment.
- Applying masking tape and coverings over areas that are not being sprayed.
- Selecting and attaching the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern.
- Spraying machines, products, and surface areas using industry techniques.
- Cleaning spray nozzles and other spraying equipment after each spray job.
- Inspecting and assessing spray coatings after the paint has dried.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency language in English and Spanish.
- Supervisory experience or similar role.
- Color wheel and color palette knowledge.
- Ability to mix paints and stains to achieve desired color, is a PLUS.
- Ability to see subtle color differences.
- In-depth knowledge of paint mixing and spraying techniques.
- Experience working as a spray painter.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must be available to work overtime and weekend shifts.
- Ability to stand for long periods and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
