Overview:

Deriva Energy is seeking a dynamic and talented Communications Coordinator to join our team reporting to the Director of External Affairs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about communications, social media, and storytelling, with a keen eye for detail and a drive for excellence.

Responsibilities:

Internal and External Communications:
Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive internal and external communications plans to support Deriva Energy's objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather content, develop messaging, and ensure consistency in communication across all channels.
Draft press releases, articles, blog posts, and other communications materials as needed.

Social media:
Manage and maintain Deriva Energy's social media channels, including but not limited to, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Assist in developing and implementing social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth.
Monitor social media trends, analyze engagement metrics, and provide insights for optimization.

Internal and External Multimedia Assets:
Design and create multimedia assets, including graphics, videos, infographics, and presentations, to support communication initiatives.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to conceptualize and produce compelling visual content that effectively conveys key messages.
Assist with ongoing website development and optimize for stakeholder use.

External engagement and brand strategy:
Gather market intelligence and conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform external engagement and brand strategy.
Use insights to develop targeted messaging and positioning strategies that resonate with key stakeholders and align with Deriva Energy's brand values.
Coordinate and execute conference engagement and external stakeholder events to maximize Deriva’s brand experience and potential.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
3- 5 years in a communications or marketing experience.
Proven success developing and implementing routine communications plans.

Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of communications experience within the energy industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences.
Experience with brand management and strategy.
Demonstrated experience in social media management platforms and analytics tools.
Strong media relations experience, including strategy and message development and maintaining external relationships.
Experience in multimedia content creation, including graphic design and video editing, using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Work Conditions:
Typical office environment, located in Charlotte, NC.
Travel possible up to 15%
