Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons is Hiring a Patient Services Support Coordinator Near Urbandale, IA

We are seeking candidates for a Full-Time position at our newest Urbandale office in the role of Patient Services Support Coordinator for Urgent Injury and visiting orthopaedic providers. The hours will be 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday-Friday. This individual is responsible for working with patients, assisting with office scheduling, and may support offsite navigators to verify authorization from insurance companies regarding future services. Some travel may be required for coverage at our Ankeny, West Des Moines and Des Moines locations. Those hours will range from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Friday.

PERKS: DMOS is based in West Des Moines Iowa. DMOS Orthopaedic Centers offers our staff a work-life balance with generous levels of time off, competitive compensation and unmatched benefits, including affordable health, vision and dental insurance. Our competitive 401K/pension plan is a benefit that contributes to the future of our staff and their ability to live their best life.

  • Employee statement: "Personally, I love the environment in Ankeny... and free coffee. I mean, the retirement and free dental is amazing, but the people and the coffee keeps me going..."

Do I want this job? You will have conversations with strangers who may be in pain and need help. You are an organized individual who can update prior authorization logs, surgery scheduling logs and navigate Outlook calendars to keep team members updated at all times. You will gather and enter information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance and needs. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You are able to work alone and alongside others in the same role in an assigned shift, because, ultimately, we are all here to help patients.

Can I do this job? You must be able to be on the phone or sit at a desk for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED. Prior experience working in medical office, preferred. You are an excellent communicator both oral and written. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time while staying organized is a must. Patient information that gets shared in clinic, stays in clinic. You can work the hours for the position (Monday - Friday; 7:30AM-4:30PM with the understanding patient appointments may run late).
