Position Overview: As a Landscape Maintenance Business Developer at DeSantis Landscapes, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, increasing revenue, and fostering lasting client relationships. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and leading the charge in driving sales growth in a designated territory. This position is based in Portland and will primarily support the growth of our East Portland metro and SW Washington service areas.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and emerging opportunities. Analyze competitive landscape and adapt strategies accordingly.
- New Business Identification: Proactively identify and target potential clients through various channels, including industry events, networking, cold calling, and online research.
- Lead Generation and Qualification: Generate leads and manage the sales pipeline, qualifying prospects based on their needs and alignment with company offerings.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions that align with their goals.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the operations team to develop comprehensive and compelling proposals that address client needs, including cost estimates, project timelines, and scope of work.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Work closely with the Vice President of Sales to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals and drive revenue growth. This includes collaborating on setting sales targets, forecasting, and tracking progress to ensure strategic execution and success.
- Networking and Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and identify potential partnerships.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations of contracts, pricing, and terms, ensuring mutual satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop marketing materials, presentations, and collateral that effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market trends. Provide regular reports to the leadership team on progress and results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Horticulture, related field, or comparable experience.
- Proven track record of at least 3 years in business development or sales, preferably within the commercial landscaping, property management, or related industry.
- Deep understanding of landscaping practices, trends, and maintenance services.
- Strong network and connections within the commercial real estate, property management, and facility management sectors.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in Aspire software a plus.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
