Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Technician Entry Level Apprenticeship

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician Apprentice to join our team. This is an entry level position and will require the apprentice to attend training classes to eventually receive their fire sprinkler fitters registration card.

Responsibilities:

- Assistant to fire sprinkler inspectors/fitters.

- Learn skills necessary to prep and install wet fire sprinkler pipe.

- Must attend fire sprinkler fitter classes and educational programs to attain certification.

- Must be willing to progress in knowledge of both California State fire codes and N.F.P.A 13 & 25.

- This is a labor intensive position and the candidate must be able to physically achieve his duties. Lifting, carrying and holding equipment ect.

- Candidates must be able to follow and learn safety instructions both at work and at job sites.

Skills:

- Preferred experience (but not required) in performing annual inspections/ five year certifications on steel and C.P.V.C. wet fire sprinkler systems. Commercial required/ commercial & residential preferred.

- Preferred experience (but not required) in identifying deficiencies & repairs needed to bring wet fire sprinkler systems to California State Fire code.

- Preferred experience (but not required) completing inspection reports for wet fire sprinkler systems.

- Preferred experience (but not required) testing and inspecting fire hydrants.

- Preferred experience (but not required) in pipe fitting/installation projects.

- Must be team oriented in completing tasks.

- Must have basic knowledge of math and measurements to be applied to inspection reports.

- Must be thorough in note taking and information obtained from inspections.

- Must have basic knowledge of how to use PPE on job sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
