Full time Attorney - Attorney Construction Associate - Multi Office

AMLaw 100 Firm Is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of two years of experience and a background in construction contracting and related development to join our Real Estate Group. This position is open to all U.S. offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Draft and negotiate EPC contracts for large infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defect claims.
  • Collaborate with construction teams on litigation and arbitration matters, providing support in all aspects, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, preparation and taking of depositions, mediations, and arbitration hearings/trials.

Education:

  • JD

Bar Admission:

  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction where you are applying.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development.
  • Experience in transactional and litigation support on construction and development work, including drafting and negotiating design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Advising clients on the management of claims and disputes related to change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defects.
  • Assisting with adversarial construction matters.
  • Familiarity with industry form agreements (AIA and similar forms) is required.
  • Prior experience in litigation or arbitration is preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency:

In accordance with California, New York, Washington DC, and Washington's Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position, if hired to work in these locations, is $235,000-$365,000 per year. The compensation offered will depend on various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance and a 401(k) plan.
