Overview
Agency Securities Lending (ASL) is a significant growth area for Deutsche Bank, enabling our client investment funds to earn additional yield on their investments by lending their securities out in the market. ASL has also launched an innovative new product enabling our clients holding high cash balances to earn extra yield by investing their cash balances in short-term instruments.
The ASL business runs on a single legacy front-to-back trading system which is being re-engineered into a modern cloud-native microservices architecture over the next 2 years; ASL Technology is currently a global team of 25 across Cary, Berlin, and Spain with a center of gravity in Cary.
You will engage with senior business stakeholders and traders to understand their business workflows and requirements, understand how these are currently implemented in the legacy system, suggest, and agree with the Business on implementing their requirements in better ways in a re-engineered system, and document these into functionally rich specifications. This is a functionally complex domain, and we are looking for analysts who can deal with complexity and highly unstructured input and convert these into a structured specifications for engineers.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the point of contact for questions or issues related to AxiomSL ControllerView software configuration for assigned regulatory reports
  • Collaborate with various business and technical teams to develop solutions for regulatory reports such as FR2900, FR2052A, FFIEC031, FRY9C, FDIC 370, etc
  • Convert the Business requirements into a better functional solution/architecture compared to legacy for the re-engineered platform
  • Get consensus on your functional solution proposal with the Business and engineers
  • Documentation of agreed functional solution into a detailed functional specification, covering User Interface (UI), processing, external feeds, and reporting
  • Business and functional analysis in an Agile Collaborative environment; Handover and walkthroughs of functional specification to engineers; Maintain procedures and system configuration documentation
Skills You'll Need
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to take a complex functional problem and convert that into a structured functional solution and then a written specification for engineers
  • Ability to think through multiple aspects of a problem and its impact throughout the application - E.g., Ability to think of the impact of a new field to the UI, trade processing, trade reconciliations, external feeds, and reporting; Ability to understand and interpret client requests/needs, and respond to questions with clear and effective answers, and give cohesive presentations
  • Excellent documentation skills in preparing highly readable functional specifications, ability to write high quality acceptance criteria covering positive and negative scenarios, and Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience as a Functional Analyst and experience with all Agile software development frameworks and processes; SQL skills to extract relevant data from the legacy system as part of functional analysis, as well as understand the data model
  • AxiomSL ControllerView configuration and implementation experience, including creation of data sources, data models, shorthands, portfolios, aggregations, reports, and workflows; experience in Software Design & Development, and in supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving both user and system related issues with financial system reporting environments (e.g., AxiomSL, Oracle, data warehouses, etc)
Skills That Will Help You Excel
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and think creatively in a fast-pace environment; Action oriented; drive continuous improvement in an agile environment and takes initiative to challenge current processes and implement change
  • Knowledge of securities lending domain is a huge advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail which includes follow up and/or escalation of issues when necessary
  • Proven team player, willing to assist others as needed to ensure that group deadlines are met and quality standards are achieved
Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
