Job Title Strategic Equity Transactions Group Analyst

Location New York, NY

Overview

Strategic Equity Transactions Group (SETG) structures, markets and executes equity-linked transactions for corporations, private equity firms and asset managers/family offices. The team sits on the private side of the Firm's informational wall and works alongside Investment Banking client coverage teams and other product groups, such as Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Leveraged Finance. Our transactions include convertible and other equity-linked financings, hedging and monetization strategies, financing against equity and equity-linked securities, structured corporate share buybacks, and other bespoke solutions. As an Analyst on SETG, you will be able learn and build a strong foundation across various products, asset classes and sectors, and be an integral member of our team as we collectively work with some of the top corporations and sponsors in the world on some of their most interesting, mentally stimulating equity-linked deals.

What You'll Do

  • Value convertible and option securities

  • Prepare marketing and bespoke materials for clients

  • Execute live transactions and work on all aspects of the deal including structuring, trade booking and negotiation of legal documents

  • Create internal memos for committee approvals and maintain various databases

  • Analyze market risks, credit risks and regulatory risks of companies/transactions

  • Provide new transaction updates and strategize deal optimization with senior group members

Skills You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, ideally in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other STEM major

  • Internship and/or full-time experience in investment banking, finance, accounting, consulting, or other adjacent fields

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office suite (including Excel and PowerPoint) and understanding of basic financial concepts, such as equity valuation, bond math, corporate finance, etc

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Strong willingness to learn and take on unfamiliar challenges

  • Able to properly prioritize multiple tasks and quickly adapt to sudden workflow changes

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills including with senior bankers

  • Exceptional time management and acute attention to details

  • Previous experience with Bloomberg favored but not required

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $110K to $125K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
