Founded in 1972, DSC provides educational, professional, residential and behavioral support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford counties. If you are seeking a rewarding and fulfilling job, we are currently hiring for the position of Employment 1st LEAP Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Employment 1st LEAP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating community outreach to promote the inclusion of people with I/DD in the workforce including local businesses, job seekers with disabilities, agency staff, and other stakeholders with an investment in promoting the employment of people with disabilities in the general workforce. The Employment 1st LEAP Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and conducting disability awareness training; developing and maintaining relationships with the business community; maintaining, monitoring, and tracking progress toward program goals; and maintaining the Champaign County Directory of Disability-Inclusive Employers. REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must be self-motivated and outgoing.
• Must be comfortable with technology.
• Experience and/or education in rehabilitation, special education, or human services preferred.
• Marketing experience is a plus.

HOURS:

• 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evening and weekend hours for special events.

• Grant-funded hiring/ new employee bonus of $500 (payable upon completion of training), and retention bonuses up to 3 times per year through June of 2024 - up to $1,500 per year!
