Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizonas 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 48 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of five to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.
As a **Food Service Specialist** , you will prepare all food items, manage food services operations and maintain the food service area in a clean, orderly and sanitary manner. You will follow federal and state guidelines in the planning, preparing and serving of meals to clients and staff, as well as facilitate culinary group student classes and luncheons.
**Schedule:** Wednesday 11:00am -7:00pm, Thursday 6:00am-2:00pm, Friday 5:00am - 1:00pm, Saturday 11:00am-7:00pm and Sunday 11:00am -7:00pm

**Qualifications**
**Our Ideal Candidate:**
High School Diploma or GED is **required**
Must be 21 years of age or older
Have a valid Food Handlers card ***OR*** the ability to obtain one
Minimum of one (1) year related experience in quality cooking **required**
Basic computer knowledge
Must be customer service oriented
Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 39-month history check
Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions ( ***OR*** eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)
Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
Must be able to complete and provide proof of current influenza vaccination
Must attend the one (1) week paid New Hire Orientation; Mon-Fri (8:30am-5:00pm) follow by 3 weeks of on the job training
**Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children** **Duties:**
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
