The Clinical Manager with Behavioral Response Unit (BRU) will oversee a team of clinicians providingimmediate crisis intervention counseling to individuals experiencing mental health distress in Orange County. The BRU is a partnership with Orange County Sheriffs Office that provides co-responder teams, consisting of a deputy and a masters level clinician, to respond to mental health crises in the community. These teams are secondary responders that provide support to front-line OCSO deputies that have responded 911 calls. The BRU Clinical Manager will provide clinical supervision and support to other BRU masters level clinicians. The BRU Manager also provides direct support to the Communication Center clinician located at the Orange County Communication Center (911 Call Center).
The crisis intervention will include stabilizing the situation through communication skills, relationship building, behavioral techniques, grief counseling, interviewing of family members, stress management techniques, etc. Based on the clinicians assessment, individualized referral recommendations will be provided to assist individuals and families with the identified needs. Services provided under this program will include phone contact and assessment, crisis response, face-to-face crisis assessment, crisis stabilization, short-term intervention including psychotherapy, referral, and connection to service providers. The BRU Clinicians work to empower the individual and/or family, working in tandem to generate solutions, and develop strategies that help establish realistic goals.
The Communication Center Clinician is a licensed clinician that serves as a Call-Taker in the Communication Center (911 Call Center) in Orange County. The Clinician provides support to 1 st level call takers for callers that may be in mental health distress. Clinician may divert the call from a patrol level response by dispatching a BRU team or coordinating with Mobile Crisis Services. Clinician also provides mental health awareness trainings to Communication Center employees.
Clinical Manager responsibilities include:
Collaborate with OCSO staff and BRU teams.
Collaborate with Orange County Communication Center Administration and Clinician.
Provide supervisory oversight and program coordination for a team of clinicians providing crisis response in the community.
Provide Clinical and administrative supervision to clinicians to assure clinicians are following state/county guidelines as well as maintaining administrative oversight of services delivered.
Provide clinical oversight for clinicians working toward licensure (preferred).
Ensure that clinicians comply with all regulatory, organizational and center standards of care.
Ensure that safe and effective delivery and documentation of resiliency services for all individuals in the program.
Lead and participate in Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for Orange County Sheriff deputies.
Serve as Project Director for federal SAMHSA Co-responder grant, including tracking call outcomes, writing and submitting required reports, and attending required
Position Details:
Pay Range: This position starts at $64,500 / annual. Salary is based on relevant education and experience.

Qualifications
Education & Licensure:
Masters degree in n Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field required
Licensed in the state of Florida under Department of Health to provide clinical services required
Qualified supervisor preferred
Experience:
Five years related experience (preferably in a residential setting) required
Must have leadership skills to lead a diverse group and problem solve effectively
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's license
This position is not office-based but includes travel to community settings in the Central Florida area. Must live in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole county to respond to crisis calls within required time frame.
Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Test and TB Test. Devereux requires all employees to obtain the annual Influenza Vaccine.
Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidates understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
