The Production engineer will work closely with the field operations staff to improve operating margins by monitoring production volumes, optimizing artificial lift, tracking lease operating expenses, and reducing equipment failures.
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Engineering
ExperienceSeeking experienced engineers in oil and gas production practices
Job Responsibilities
  • Supports the operation and maintenance of oil and gas wells and facilities to ensure production volumes and lease operating expenses are meeting plan.
  • Ensure operations and procedures are being conducted in compliance with all applicable state/province and federal laws and regulations
  • Utilize continuous improvement processes and analytics to optimize artificial lift, ensure efficient facility operations, and reduce equipment failures.
  • Prepare written workover procedures and cost estimates with economic justification to perform the work
  • Design artificial lift systems and conduct periodic reviews with detailed equipment failure analyses
  • Aid in the preparation of annual production and expense budgets
  • Prepare and lead periodic well reviews, KPI meetings, project updates, and other business performance iniatives
  • Interact daily with Devon field personnel, asset team members, service companies, landowners and regulatory agency personnel
Other Requirements
  • Be a safety leader and champion ESG initiatives
  • Demonstrate commitment to Devon Values
  • Familiarity in the data analytics space (Advanced VBA, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, Python, PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Knowledge in state/province and federal regulatory laws and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
  • Efficient time management and the ability to concurrently handle multiple projects
  • Able to travel as required
  • Able to work extended hours on occasion
