Dewberry is currently seeking an Entry Level Geospatial Analyst in our Tampa, FL or Fairfax, VA offices with a focus on topographic lidar, vector data, and raster analysis. Overall responsibility includes working on a team performing detailed analysis of vector data, Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Surface Models (DSMs), lidar derived point cloud, and other QC related rasters. Typical responsibilities are to work on Remote Sensing related projects for state and federal clients across the US.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain digital elevation mapping products, capture relevant data, and create and manipulate datasets.
• Analyze point clouds and various geospatial data layers derived from point cloud data.
• Work with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budget.
• Perform QAQC on data products and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with a team

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
• Education in a Surveying/Geomatics/GIS/Remote Sensing or related field.
• An understanding of GIS and Lidar data and concepts including a strong knowledge of various raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datums
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

• Hands on experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field with a focus on point cloud classification, working with Lidar and producing other Elevation data sources.
• Industry certifications in Lidar or other Remote Sensing technologies a plus.
• LASTools, LP360, Global Mapper, QGIS experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or other programming languages a plus.
• GDAL Tools, and command line applications highly desirable.
• Knowledge of CZMIL and Riegl sensors a plus.
• Working experience with Terrasolid Products and MicroStation

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
