Description

Position Summary: Responsible for performing all domestic household duties, ensuring that the residence is maintained to the highest aesthetic standard, while maintaining owners privacy. Oversees the work and prioritization of supporting housekeepers to ensure all team tasks are completed in a timely fashion. Assists the owners as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain processes to maintain the home to the highest aesthetic and performance standards
  • Help coordinate and oversee special events including set-up and post event clean-up
  • Anticipate and recognize the needs of the house and owners with little guidance and oversight
  • Conduct frequent reviews of the physical surroundings to ensure quality issues are identified and reported to the appropriate department and are rectified
  • Coordinate contractors and ensure appropriate quality product / Maintain appropriate supply inventories
  • Coordinate housekeeping schedule in order to minimize impact to the owners
  • Proficiency in working with high grade surfaces; wood, leather, furniture, carpet, silver, artwork, antiques
  • Make recommendations to improve and upgrade the level of detail, service, and operational sophistication
  • Assists in forming an annual Housekeeping budget; participates in ongoing Finance related procedures (e.g., invoice processing, budget-to-actual reviews)
  • Occasional travel to assist other teams when needed
  • Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations

Essential skills and experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the cleaning maintenance of high-quality homes/hotels
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written, and email
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Flexibility and willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed, flexibility in traveling between properties as requested
  • Demonstrated managerial and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of general office procedures; as well as intermediate knowledge of smart phone and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects with available resources
  • Keen attention to detail, honesty, adaptability, dependability, and a willingness to do hands-on work
  • Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality and professionalism

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Private estate/hotel/ hospitality/museum experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Work environment: Home setting. Noise level usually moderate.
  • Travel: Frequent local daytime travel as needed for running errands. Up to 25% domestic US travel as needed for coverage, often on short notice.
  • General sign-off: The employee is expected to adhere to and ensure compliance with all relevant OSHA safety regulations for all facility personnel; as well as all company policies, and to act as a role model in the adherence to policies.
