We are seeking an Associate - Financial Communications and Event-Driven Communications Advisory to join our dynamic Complex Communications Advisory team. This role is ideally suited for individuals with previous experience in communications firms, particularly in the realm of financial communications. Candidates should possess a nuanced understanding of financial markets alongside exceptional research and writing skills. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment while advising clients on critical financial and corporate positioning matters. Location New York City or Washington, DC (hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office) Responsibilities
Work directly with and learn from a group of senior experts within a flat organizational structure
Be part of a core team focused on advising companies on high-stakes, event-driven financial and corporate positioning matters including, but not limited to, investor relations, transaction advisory and crisis communications
Work with companies of all sizes and industries, including young IPO’s with little public company experience to mature, multinational clients
Develop first drafts of an array of client-specific financial communications content (e.g., background and strategy memos, earnings call and conference scripts, talking points, Q&A documents, training materials)
Conduct in-depth research into listed companies, their industries and peers
Take a leading role in supporting firm and business development initiatives, including conducting desktop research on prospective clients as part of a growing team
Work on an array of project types, from fast-paced matters to long-term reputation management campaigns for some of the most mission-critical issues a company can face
Grow your skills as a problem solver, becoming comfortable operating independently and seeking counsel at the appropriate time

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
1-2 years relevant experience in a financial communications, investment banking, equity research or investor relations role – from internships, at an agency or inhouse, or provide evidence that you possess the capabilities of someone having that level of experience
Financial acumen and understanding of capital markets, regulatory filings and investment industry landscape
Comfortable dealing with the most senior people within the organization
Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills
Highly collaborative working style
Excellent research and analysis skills
Proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel and comparable programs
Experience with a variety of marketing tools, including traditional and social media platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Brandwatch, Signal, etc.) as well as financial and/or government and legal databases (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Factset, Reuters/Eikon, PACER) is a plus, though not required.
