Job Purpose:

Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive supplier diversity program aligned with the DHL Group’s strategic goals and DEIB objectives.

Your tasks:

  • Facilitate the execution of short- and long-term supplier diversity strategies, goals, objectives, and action plans in support of the company's strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and program leadership to ensure appropriate identification, qualification, and inclusion of small businesses and diverse suppliers.
  • Attend or host outreach events and represent the company’s supplier diversity program as a participant and/or panelist.
  • Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and impact of the supplier diversity program.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the supplier diversity program.
  • Collect and analyze data related to each supplier diversity initiative, presenting progress reports to leadership and stakeholders. Produce quarterly, and semiannual reports for internal analysis and reporting against spend goals and objectives.
  • Manage ongoing partnerships in the supplier diversity community and involvement with national or local chapters of major diversity organizations (e.g. SBA, NMSDC, WBENC, etc.).
  • Act as an advocate to ensure that maximum practicable subcontracting bidding opportunities are offered to Small Business (SB), Minority Business (MB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Disability-Owned (DOBE) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender-Owned (LGBT).
  • Contribute to key decisions and/or recommendations concerning Supplier Diversity category strategies including sourcing, negotiation, contract awards, and supplier management.
  • Mature and coordinate the Tier 1 program. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, establish and expand the Tier 2 program. Promote and ensure compliance with customer contracts as well as collaborate internally to develop supplier diversity spend goals that are aligned with leadership.
  • Benchmark industry best practices in supplier diversity programs and implement appropriate practices into supplier diversity strategy.
  • Monitor new and existing business contracts to identify opportunities for diverse suppliers.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure supplier diversity website, executive messaging and the onboarding portal are maintained.
  • Plan and execute supplier diversity initiatives and generate internal/external communications about the supplier diversity program.
  • Developing and directing training for sourcing teams.
  • Developing planning and assessment tools and resources.
  • Assessing and improving or updating policies and procedures.
  • Seeking out and fostering new vendor relationships and seeking vendors in previously unexplored categories.

Your profile:

  • 5 years of experience in Supplier Diversity, preferably in a contracting, procurement or, legal related function.
  • Project Management Experience, (ability to plan, organize, implement, and deliver).
  • Excellent analytic, reporting , presenting and communication skills.
  • Passion in advocating for diversity and building long term business relationships.
  • Strong team player, with the innate ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to drive discussions with stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to persuade stakeholders regarding the value of Procurement and Supplier Diversity.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and present data effectively.
