The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical system installations on construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping. This role requires strong leadership, thorough knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage mechanical installations for construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of mechanical subcontractors, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.
• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify any potential challenges or conflicts.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety practices.
• Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise during construction, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all mechanical systems are installed and tested according to project requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
• Collaborate with other superintendents and project managers to coordinate work schedules and resource allocation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure expectations are met.
• Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures, conducting safety meetings and training as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Proven track record of managing mechanical installations on large commercial or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work on a construction site, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
