The End-User Computing (EUC) Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the end-user computing environment within the organization. This includes ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of desktop/laptop systems, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and related software and hardware. The EUC Administrator will work closely with IT teams to provide technical support, manage configurations, and implement solutions that enhance end-user productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Desktop/Laptop Management:
    • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
    • Manage and deploy operating system updates, patches, and software applications.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on end-user devices.
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI):
    • Administer and support the VDI environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
    • Manage user profiles, policies, and settings within the VDI infrastructure.
    • Monitor and optimize VDI resources and performance metrics.
  • Software Deployment and Management:
    • Utilize software deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune) to distribute and manage software applications.
    • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
    • Automate software deployment and update processes.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain security protocols and configurations on end-user devices.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for end-user computing issues.
    • Assist in the resolution of complex technical problems.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of issues and resolutions in the IT ticketing system.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Collaborate with IT teams on projects and initiatives.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on the use of hardware and software.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
  • Hardware Management:
    • Manage the inventory and lifecycle of end-user computing hardware.
    • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements.
    • Plan and execute hardware refresh cycles.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • 3 years of experience in end-user computing support and administration.
    • Experience with VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Windows and MacOS operating systems.
    • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM.
    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
