- PM will be responsible for managing the development of new stores from a zoning, permitting, planning, entitlements and working with state and local government, etc.
- The role is open because RaceTrac is in a high growth mode for building new gas stations.
- Need to have experience with public speaking such as at city council meetings, HOA s, etc.
- Need to be able to field questions during these meetings and provide concise answers with confidence.
- The projects will range from 11 months to multiple years.
- Need a self-starter who can also be aggressive with following up with state and local agencies to get answers, need to persistent since the projects are so long, they can t just wait for these agencies to respond when they feel like it.
- Will be working with the internal Architecture and environmental teams but also with 3rd party firms within the specific locations for the actual building of the project.
- Someone with experience in commercial design, construction, civil engineering or land design, site layouts, grading, etc. is very helpful.
- Travel is usually 1-2 days a week and usually 3 weeks a month but could be more at times based on the size of the project.
- Will be traveling as far west at Texas, north to Indiana and the southeast.
- Open to someone who is remote if they have the exact experience within this space.
- Ideally would be in Texas, Florida or southeast.
- *It sounded like this is an option but not preferred so let s try and find someone in Atlanta but if you come across someone that looks perfect, we can consider it.
- Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and permitting new construction for client convenience stores.
- Obtains the necessary permits and communicates with local government agencies as needed. Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
- Understands and recommends alterations to drawings and designs to improve quality and efficiency of the result.
- Negotiates with the company s executive team and city council by understanding the building and ownership of the projects.
- Selects and manages consultants on design/entitlement teams.
- 3 5 years experience preferred, previous work experience in the petroleum industry a plus
- Excellent negotiation, communication, decision-making and public presentation skills
- Previous managerial experience preferred Previous involvement with zoning and permitting with city council preferred
- Proficient with MS Office Suite preferred
