With physical offices in Texas and North Carolina and full-time consultants living in almost every region of the country, the firm has served hundreds of organizations across the USA as well as in Canada and several countries overseas. DickersonBakker provides assistance in all areas of development, ensuring each client will gain the necessary tools, skills, and experience needed to fuel their growth, build sustainability, and achieve a greater impact. You can learn more about our company by visiting our website at DickersonBakker.com.Reports to: Executive Vice President of Fundraising SolutionsLocation: Remote (within continental U.S.) 50% Travel Required The Group VP, Fund Development reports to the EVP of Fundraising Solutions and will split time evenly between business development and servicing existing and new client consulting work in the area of mid and major gift development programs. This role is a key part of the DickersonBakker sales team and will focus on identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, primarily in fund development.This role will also serve a portfolio of clients and associated projects. The current portfolio of clients in this division are faith-based and conservative policy organizations.The ideal candidate will align well with our corporate culture and core values and will be able to demonstrate six or more years of successful professional experience in nonprofit fundraising – particularly major gift development, organizational leadership and/or enterprise sales - plus a degree in nonprofit administration, marketing / communications, fundraising, journalism, business, or related field.Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Leadership
  • Build and execute a relationship-first outbound sales strategy (from sourcing through close) to drive division revenue growth to meet aggressive goals
  • Build out a thriving portfolio of fund development products and services to meet and exceed existing and future client needs
  • Stay relationally involved with clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and strategic focus across the enterprise.
  • Lead effectively and model the culture, vision, and values of DickersonBakker to internal staff, clients, and the larger philanthropic community.
  • Elevate the visibility and perception of DickersonBakker in the nonprofit landscape.
Client Service and Strategy Delivery
  • Serve as the lead client contact and facilitate the assessment, master plan development, and implementation of client projects using DickersonBakker’s trusted and proven fund development model.
  • Function as the central contact and consultative liaison between the client and DB Client Service Specialist team to design and execute client planning calls, meetings, and material development for client engagements.
  • Collaborate with clients to create strategic and creative briefs, guiding the Creative Strategy team in developing preliminary case statements and impactful messaging for major donors.
  • Analyze client data sets to identify challenges and opportunities in fund development and overall organizational development.
Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years of experience in a similar or comparable environment e.g. consulting services, sales, service business, agency work, management consulting, major gift or capital campaign consulting. Preferably with experience in enterprise-level sales and sales management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a business unit, with experience managing teams and driving market growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow relationships with nonprofit and philanthropy leaders, CEO’s, CFO’s, board members, and their associated associations, memberships, and supporters
  • Strong financial acumen and business planning skills with specific experience managing complex budgets effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze datasets to identify key opportunities and challenges
  • Prior experience leading one or more team members preferred
  • Demonstrated systems thinking and project management capabilities
  • Excellent writing and proposal development skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and business cases.
