Who we are and what we do:
The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) is the state agency responsible for administering services and support to Tennesseans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is done in several ways, including Medicaid Waiver Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), State-operated Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IIDs), and the Family Support Program. DIDD administers services directly or through contracts with community providers. DIDD strives to partner with the people it supports and their family members and friends.
How you make a difference in this role:
A Data Specialist plays a crucial role in Reportable Events Management by ensuring that data related to incidents, occurrences, and other reportable events are accurately captured, analyzed, and utilized to improve care and safety for Tennesseans with Intellectual Disabilities (IDD). Develops and maintains standardized forms and protocols for reporting events to ensure consistency and completeness of the data collected. Ensures that all reportable events, such as incidents of abuse, neglect, medical errors, and other critical occurrences, are accurately recorded in the system. Implements data validation techniques to minimize errors and maintain high data quality. Tracks performance against metrics to assess the effectiveness of interventions and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect data from various sources such as databases, APIs, and external datasets.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Or
Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub professional experience, paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.
