We have a great opportunity for a Client Support Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of making a positive impact on the lives of our clients overcoming substance use disorder. In this role you'll facilitate our client's transition from a professionally directed recovery plan to a self-directed recovery plan. This includes collaborating across various functions like dental, counseling, transportation, and administration, as well as coordinating external services and resources. Reporting directly to our Director of Social Work you'll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless high-quality patient support.

Our comprehensive services include primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment in a dedicated care team model. We also go beyond these services to support our clients by offering a range of services like transportation, childcare, dental services, acupuncture, yoga, case management, and even free lunches while onsite. What you’ll do:

  • Provide a welcoming environment and acts as a host to all clients visiting the clinic.
  • Assist in the orientation process for clients who are new to receiving didgwálic wellness services.
  • Assist clients in working with their SUD and/or Mental Health Counselor in determining and facilitating the steps they need to take to transition from a professionally directed recovery plan to a self-directed recovery plan.
  • Coordinate transportation and/or transport the clients directly to DSHS, DOL, SSI office, Workforce.
  • Accompany clients as necessary to medical, dental, substance use, mental health, and wellness service appointments.
  • Assist Case Manager in obtaining services that suit that individual’s recovery needs by providing names of staff, community resources and groups that may be useful, and guidance on how to use these in the recovery process as well as scheduling appointments for the clients.
  • Models’ personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and hope, as appropriate, and develop authentic peer to peer relationships.
  • Engage members to achieve behavioral health recovery goals using coaching and problem-solving techniques.
  • Assist clients in developing empowerment skills to combat stigma through self-advocacy by conducting regular meetings, individual or group sessions.
  • Help assess emergency situations, notify Case Manager, supervisor and/or appropriate clinical and administrative personnel of actual or potential problems.
  • Collaborate with Northwest Regional Council and provide monthly verification of services for the Medicaid gas voucher and gas reimbursement program.
  • Provide education and advocacy within the community that promotes awareness of behavioral health conditions while reducing misconceptions, prejudices, and discrimination.
  • Complete all required documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all requirements to ensure that PRS certification remains current and in good standing.

Qualifications


Must have’s:

  • 3 months in a similar position providing direct support to clients
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience using MS Office suite. 
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. 
  • Knowledge and skills to teach and engage in basic problem-solving strategies to support individual clients across diverse range of service users, including diversity of age, gender and gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientations, physical and mental ability, and more.
  • Recognizes the importance of individual differences that influence client behavior and applies this understanding to clinical practice.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of Behavioral Health Records and adhere to the standards for health recordkeeping, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Privacy Act requirements.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Tribal affiliation a plus!
