Description

The didgwálic Wellness Center is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Facilities Maintenance Worker to join an integrated care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment under one roof. In this role you'll provide general maintenance and repair of assigned equipment and facilities by inspecting, maintaining and operating facility utilities. You will be responsible for responding to failures of facility utilities and equipment such as electrical distribution, lighting, emergency power, vertical transport, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and hot water systems. In this role you'll also conduct environmental and custodian tasks as a collateral function.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform minor repairs on various pieces of equipment such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, doors, and other facility fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair using building blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
  • Inspect and clean outside air conditioning units, heating and air conditioning vents and grates in the offices and hallways. Replaces air conditioning filters.
  • Inspect and repair all interior and exterior lighting.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary parts, cleaning supplies, and other materials needed to perform job duties.
  • Keep the entire facility including the parking lots and sidewalks clean and orderly as well as clearing the sidewalks and parking areas of snow and ice during inclement weather.
  • Perform office furniture moves and furniture re-arranging, setup and clean-up of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
  • Communicate with the facilities director about all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as keep accurate records and schedules.
  • Maintain a safe working environment following all OSHA and WISHA regulations.
  • Assist the EVS team with collection and proper disposal of refuse, bio-medical waste, recycling, confidential papers, etc.
  • Assist the EVS team with cleaning patient, staff, and common areas.
  • Adheres to all OSHA regulations.
  • Understand how to use chemicals safely and maintain all MSDS documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.

Qualifications


Must Haves:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Related experience required.
  • Ability to safely operate electric and battery powered cleaning equipment and general power tools.
  • Ability to operate landscape equipment such as lawn mowers, string trimmers, and other equipment associated with the maintenance of landscape.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, crawl in awkward spaces and lift up to 50 pounds at a time, occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment.
  • Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (HIPAA and 42 CFR part 2).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution. 
  • Experience using MS Office suite. 
  • Tribal affiliation a plus!
