Business Office Clerk

Busy, fast-paced GI physician group is looking for a dependable team member. The position of office clerk consists of performing various tasks requiring limited knowledge of billing practice management systems and procedures. Position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 – 4:30 with great benefits. EOE.

Patient Account Representative

Reports To:

Director Business Services

Position Summary:·

- Taking payments via phone and running credit card payments.

- Working return mail and bankruptcy accounts.

- Filing, copying and faxing.

- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA regulations/standards.

- Performs all other duties and tasks as delegated and/or assigned.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience Requirements:

Exposure to a medical billing office preferred.

Job Knowledge/Qualifications:

Attention to detail and willingness to take on a variety of clerical duties. Some previous healthcare experience or interest in healthcare/medical field will be considered. Being reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations. Being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Skill in basic office equipment. Ability to read, understand and communicate well. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.

Physical Requirements:

· Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.

· Requires moderate periods of walking and standing.

· Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. occasionally.

· Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

Work Environment:

Works in heated and air-conditioned area. Minimal potential for occupational exposure to infectious materials and contagious conditions. Must follow universal precautions. Must follow CDC hand-washing guidelines and practice good personal hygiene.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
