Busy, fast-paced Gastroenterology physician group in need of a team member experienced in CHARGE CODING and ENTRY. Must be familiar with CPT coding, ICD10 mapping, billing modifiers, insurance companies, various billing formats and medical documentation for the purpose of billing claims electronically or paper. Must be able to enter charges in a high volume setting timely and accurately. Must be able to review and finalize daily charge reports and provide backup for other areas of the business office as needed. Position is Monday-Friday 8 am - 430pm with great benefits.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 1 year in medical billing office. A test of basic medical charge billing functions will be given at time of interview.

Job Knowledge:

Medical terminology, grammar, spelling and punctuation in order to process correspondence. Knowledge of the insurance industry. Familiar with CPT codes, modifiers, ICD-10 codes and Medicare regulations. Skill in basic office equipment. Ability to read, understand and communicate well. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.

Physical Requirements:

· Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.

· Requires moderate periods of walking and standing.

· Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. occasionally.

· Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

Work Environment:

Works in heated and air-conditioned area. Minimal potential for occupational exposure to infectious materials and contagious conditions. Must follow universal precautions. Must follow CDC hand-washing guidelines and practice good personal hygiene.
