Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of our cannabis analytical testing lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing processes, improving efficiency, and developing strategic plans to increase profitability. The successful candidate will also lead a team of account managers and intake staff while facilitating the needs of chemists and microbiologists and adhere to impartiality requirements and quality standards. Participates in improved method development and validation as required. Orders laboratory supplies and maintains inventory. Creates scheduling policies lab-wide. Populates Certificates of Analyses for the client and State for every sample entering the laboratory for testing.

Responsibilities:

Specifically:

• Maintains effective communication with all departments in the laboratory

• Serves as the focal point for all data generated and published at Digipath Labs

• Populates and publishes all approved Certificate of Analyses to appropriate bodies

• Supervises processing team and all processing departmental procedures

• Ensures processing team adhere to impartiality

• Ensures processing team adhere to Quality system

• Maintains Demonstration of Capabilities for processing team

• Implements, oversees and maintains LIMS and processing records management.

• Maintains and manages laboratory inventory supply

• Monitors laboratory workflow processes and reports any observations to upper management as needed

• Maintains and updates internal workflow systems as needed

• Tracks all active samples and sample retention as they enter and exit the laboratory; manages consumption of samples in testing

• Communicates with any third party bodies as needed including (but not limited to) Agilent, Confident Cannabis, and inventory-approved vendors

• Provides data summaries as requested

• Performs data analysis as required

• May manage particular areas of operation as needed (waste, security, etc.)

• Carries out contracted R&D projects as needed

Required Qualifications, Training & Skills

The manager must be self-motivated, energetic and possess the ability to work in a diverse GLP laboratory environment under a QMS. Candidate must have exquisite organizational skills and deep understanding of statistical techniques with hands-on experience in manipulating large datasets and familiarity with LIMS, Confident Cannabis and METRC. This position requires the candidates to have adequate statistical analysis skills, good concept of quantification, accuracy/variation, and organizational skills. Candidates must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; have strong trouble-shooting, computer and record keeping skills and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
