Diné Development Corporation is Hiring an Environmental Compliance Specialist Near Aberdeen, MD

BRIC is seeking an Environmental Specialist II to join our team to provide environmental compliance consultation and management services in the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs. Assignments pertain to development of management plans to comply with Federal, state, and local environmental control regulations and goals (e.g., water, air, solid waste. The position requires thorough knowledge of all State, Federal, and Local regulations pertaining to environmental compliance programs.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Plan, develop, and execute environmental conservation, restoration, compliance, and pollution prevention projects, adapting approaches to complex and non-routine challenges. Coordinate all project phases from inception to completion.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations by incorporating relevant requirements into project design, implementation, and evaluation. Prepare permit applications and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Environmental Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct environmental assessments, analyze laboratory reports, and interpret data to identify hazardous conditions and regulatory noncompliance. Manage sampling equipment calibration and sample collection.
  • Team Coordination and Support: Coordinate spill response and abatement team activities. Organize and administer meetings to discuss environmental issues, track action items, and facilitate presentations. Provide guidance and support for remediation actions.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver environmental training programs. Participate in meetings to address environmental concerns related to assigned projects.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data from various sources to identify trends and recommend improvements. Prepare written reports and documentation for project outcomes and compliance status.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)
  • Active Secret clearance required. Drug testing will be required for selected candidate.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in specialization or related discipline and 1 yr. applicable experience or have 3 to 5 yr. applicable experience in related discipline.
  • Must be able to pass background checks in order to access and work on Federal sites.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge/understanding of other Federal, State, and Local Environmental Compliance and Permitting.
  • Certifications and training preferred: 40-hour HAZWOPER, HAZWOPER Supervisor, First Aid and CPR, 30 Hours OSHA General construction training, DOT HM Shipping, Asbestos and Lead Abatement Certification, and Hazardous Waste Generator Certification. Must be able to obtain within 1-6 months from start of position.
  • Shall be Respiratory Protection qualified, to include medical screening, fit checks, and Respiratory Protection Training.
  • Dependable, flexible, and able to travel and spend time in the field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
