He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people).

He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH - TEMPLE, TEXAS help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description.

Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the general maintenance, care and cleanliness of all parish facilities. In addition, this position works in collaboration with staff of St.

Mary's Catholic School and Parish on the up keep and maintainence of both facilities. The position reports to the Pastor and operates with some latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative .

Essential Duties

• As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the parish in both your professional and personal
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic
• Help maintain each building and identify maintenance needs of each building.
• Help look after the grounds and be available for various manual work on campus.
• Complete minor repairs as needed.
• Help monitor Heating and A / C, lighting, and water systems.
• Minor cleaning and disposal of trash as needed.
• Help organized storage space and inventory stock of event and janitorial supplies.
• Open needed facilities and secure all facilities during working hours.
• Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to staff and customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of the structure and basic teachings of the Roman Catholic
• Knowledge of facilities.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and work effectively with staff, clergy, religious and laity.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and utilize effective time management techniques.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Trainings :

• High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency.

Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.

Licenses / Certifications :

• Valid Texas driver's
