Direct Counsel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join an excellent supply company's finance team located in Houston, Tx. The ideal candidate will possess a patient personality, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Support the Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements and other financial accounts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial processes and procedures are followed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license required
Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in Audit public accounting.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated patience and a calm demeanor in handling complex tasks and tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
