Direct Counsel has partnered with a premier, nationally recognized firm who is looking for an attorney with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of labor and employment with substantial wage and hour law experience to join their office in Los Angeles, CA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Advise employers on how to comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in the United States.
Help ensure employers are following proper payroll practices and are in compliance with minimum wage and overtime regulations.
Negotiate settlements between employers and employees to resolve wage and hour disputes outside of court
Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediation, arbitration, and litigation before various forums such as labor boards, state and federal courts, and regulatory agencies.
Provide legal advice and guidance to both employees and employers on their rights and obligations under wage and hour laws
Prepare legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements, and advocate on behalf of clients during hearings and trials
Qualifications:
J.D. From an accredited U.S Law School
Admitted to practice law in California
4-6 years of experience of labor and employment law experience
