SummaryUnder general supervision and acting with a high degree of independence, the Human Resources Generalist (HRG) performs a wide variety of professional and administrative Human Resources tasks and duties related to recruiting, performance management, employee relations, training, and labor law compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs assigned recruitment and selection activities including posting jobs, identifying and screening potential candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, coordinating background and drug screens and assisting in development of offer letters.
- As directed, works with temporary agencies and hiring managers to fill staffing needs.
- Assists leaders in review and validation of job descriptions as required.
- Coordinates performance management activities including management of performance review schedule and maintenance of performance review database.
- Assists HR Director with onboarding and new employee orientation requirements.
- Handles employee relations issues as assigned by HR Director.
- Assists in production and compilation of HR data as directed.
- Completes HR-related compliance audits as assigned.
- Assist HR Leadership as needed
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with DMS Values and Code of Conduct
- Adhere to all DMS policies and procedures at all times
- Learn and adhere to all Information Technology and data security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
- Learn and adhere to DMS rules and established policies for workplace health and safety
- Complete all required compliance training on time and in good faith
- 2 years' experience in HR-related position or equivalent education or training
- Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality
- Solid understanding of federal and Pennsylvania state labor laws
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Requires strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HR software
