Summary:Seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal for our Downtown Fort Lauderdale office to join our Trust and Estates Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in probate, including guardianships and trust modifications. They must be organized, possess strong written communication skills, and handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment with attention to detail and initiative.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to attorneys.
- Prepare probate pleadings and other legal documents.
- Manage inventory and distribution of assets.
- Knowledge of IRS forms such as gift tax (709) and estate tax (706) returns.
- Record documents and deeds with courts, e-filing.
- Proofread all documents and correspondence for accuracy.
- Handle billing tasks, including preparing invoices, creating cover letters, and sending them to clients.
- Enter time and print reports as requested.
- Maintain client files, including preparing documents for signings.
- Communicate daily with clients professionally.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Minimum of three to five years’ experience in a law firm setting supporting a Trust and Estates Practice Group, preferably with probate matters.
