Director of Residential Services
Disability Resources, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that supports a community designed to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. We are located in the great state of Texas and are currently seeking a relationship builder and difference maker as a Director of Residential Services. Disability Resources, Inc. provides industry-leading services to our residents such as; helping residents develop their life skills, providing required medical care, a variety of therapies, offering spiritual opportunities for growth, and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

The job duties for the position of Director of Residential Services listed below.
Job Summary: The Director of Residential Services assumes the following job duties and is responsible for all aspects of residential care…
· Ensure there is an adequate and qualified Direct Care staff available at all times. Scheduling, all schedules will be maintained at least three weeks in advance
· Managing Residential Service performance to achieve budgets and organizational objectives
· Oversee the incorporation of DRI’s mission statement in the Folk’s daily lives
· Know and understand each Folk’s abilities, disabilities and interests in order to supervise and care for them effectively
· Know and maintain strict adherence to all DRI policies and procedures
· Comply with all appropriate State and Federal standards
· Ensure all fire and disaster drills are done according to state and federal guidelines
· Ensure Residential staff provides medicines and treatment to the Folk’s in accordance with medical directions
· Investigate instances of Folk’s improper behavior and ensure actions taken are appropriate and properly reported
· Evaluate Residential staff employees performance and conduct appraisals in accordance with Employee Handbook
· Directly supervises house managers
· Indirectly supervise all other residential staff
· Supervises activities of Folk’s in his/her care
· Coordinates with the Medical Liaison to ensure that all appointments and documentation required and correctly complete
· Shall remain current in all required training
· 3 years’ experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
· Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write, in English, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak the English language effectively
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as money management for household and Folk’s
· All other duties as assigned.
Experience:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience working directly in Management
· CPR certification - required
· Proficient computer skills- required
· Attendance and punctuality - a must
· Valid driver’s license - required
Education: Associates Degree preferred
Environmental and Working Conditions:You will workatmultiple locations within the community campus. There may be times you attend off campus activities. You may be required to cover a specific shift and/or overtime as business needs see fit.
Physical and Mental Effort: Sitting, standing need to lift, pull, carry, and push items weighing up to fifty pounds. Frequent need to stoop, kneel, and reaching. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to utilize practical common sense and critical thinking is required.
Schedule:Would typically be M-F but could be flexed time wise depending on staffing needs of the community.
