Disability Resources, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that supports a community designed to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. We are located in the great state of Texas and are currently seeking a relationship builder and difference maker as a Medical Liaison. Disability Resources, Inc. provides industry-leading services to our residents such as; helping residents develop their life skills, providing required medical care, a variety of therapies, offering spiritual opportunities for growth, and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

We are growing and adding positions to our team! The job duties for the position of Medical Liaison are listed below.
Job Summary: The Medical Liaison assumes the following job duties…
· Overseeing the incorporation of DRI’s mission statement in the folks’ daily lives.
· Knowledge and understanding of each folk’s abilities, disabilities and interests in order to supervise and care for them effectively
· Strict adherence to all DRI policies and procedures
· Ensuring compliance with all appropriate State and Federal standards
· Maintains phone contact as assigned with all residents’ physicians, dentists and other medical specialist.
· Accurately maintains all medical records as assigned.
· Schedules all medical appointments as assigned in accordance with licensing regulations (annual physicals, psychiatric treatment, dental, follow-up appointments, etc.)
· Transports and advocates for the residents during each medical appointment
· Assures appropriate paperwork is completed.
· Assures necessary follow-up per physicians’ orders.
· Tracking and coordinating all activities, appointments and other events requiring transportation.
· Communicating and interacting professionally and respectfully with all DRI folks, employees, supervisors, customers and constituents.
· Ensuring that all pertinent medical information is gathered and forwarded to the correct individual(s) as needed. Maintain any pertinent information, ID cards, medical cards, web-based medical accounts.
· Update parents/families/guardians on the outcome of appointments when requested by RN’s.
· Ensuring that all proper documentation is in place and provided to Registered Nurses when needed.
· Performing other duties as assigned.

Education:
· Associate’s Degree preferred
· Must meet State and Federal requirements as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional
· One year experience dealing with people with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities
· Must be able to communicate, read, speak, write the English Language
· Must pass background check, drug tests and other screening tests
· Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
· CPR certification - required
· Proficient computer skills- required
· Attendance and punctuality - a must
· Valid driver’s license - required
Environmental and Working Conditions:You will workatmultiple locations within the community campus and off campus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write, in English, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak the English language effectively.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Schedule:Work schedule would be typical Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or as needed.
