Summary of Position and Duties:

• Ensure the highest level of customer service to visitors and customers in person or by phone at all times.
• Ability to provide administrative guidance within the area of responsibility, providing direct training and supervision as needed.
• Execute strategies to increase revenue using customer and market trends.
• Administer long term planning, project updates, and implementing new processes as needed as well as keeping updated information on these processes.
• Actively participate in staff and department meetings.
• Complete all assignments and special projects by the Director of Retail and Visitor Services in a timely manner.
• Oversee appropriate cash controls, ie. receipts and reconciliations of sale for the Visitor Center additionally reconciling all financial requests for payment.
• Manage opening and closing procedures including banking, clean standards and securing the building.
• Order supplies, preventing excess stock and eliminating non-usable items.
• Coordinate with Retail Manager with stockroom tasks and oversee all BOH cleanliness and organization.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory controls including retail receivables and monitoring POS transactions.
• Manage site operations including building maintenance, safety, and compliance with public codes and ordinances.
• Provide work schedules for the receiving coordinator.
• Work closely with all departments at Visit Austin and other partners of Visit Austin including Austin Convention Center.
• Collaborate with staff to problem solve.
• Have a good understanding of all policies and procedures of Visit Austin and follow them as appropriate.
• Ability to provide administrative guidance within the area of responsibility, providing direct training and supervision.
• Week day and weekend shifts will be required.

Key Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Customer service, retail and cash-handling experience.
• Capability to assist in planning, directing, and evaluating, using manpower, time, funds, and other resources for the accomplishment of long term and short term goals.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with staff, clients, and public
• Management experience.
• Familiarity of Austin and local businesses
• Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
