Compensation Range: $90-110k per year

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Director of Content (DC) oversees the creation and execution of content strategies for Discovery Behavioral Health and its portfolio of brands. In addition to being a seasoned B2B and B2C copywriter and content strategist, the DC leads a team of copywriters (in house and outsourced), ensuring consistent tone and style for each brand as well as making sure creative execution meets business objectives.

Under the DC’s oversight, the copy team is responsible for developing compelling eating disorder, mental health and substance use disorder marketing materials, including brochures, e-newsletters, emails, web content, and other content as needed for both consumer and professional audiences.

The DC is a leader within the Marketing Department. As an integral part of the client-facing marketing team, the DC is a key contributor in strategy meetings at the onset of new projects (websites, collateral, tv commercials and other paid advertising) and frequently acts as the liaison between the marketing department and other business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops content strategies and oversees content creation based on identified audiences and objectives
  • Collaborates with marketing teammates – creative director, SEO manager, web manager, social media specialists and others – in the planning and execution of projects
  • Manages social media and product marketing mangers.
  • Has a keen eye for brand development, including competitive positioning and brand consistency
  • Expert understanding of user experience and SEO requirements in the development of sitemaps and content for brand websites
  • Develops and mentors team of copywriters
  • Evaluates the success of content strategies utilizing standardized metrics, such as web analytics, SEO, email marketing and admissions funnel reports
  • Expert in the latest marketing trends, including social media and user experience
  • Manages a team of freelance bloggers, including assigning topics, managing deadlines, editing, and coordinating internal reviews
  • Maintains an editorial calendar that integrates web content, social media, and clinical outreach objectives
  • Maintains Editorial Style Guide Manual
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing OR equivalent related experience.
  • 10 years’ experience in marketing or sales, preferably in the behavioral healthcare space.
