The Discovery Labs is seeking a VP of Business Development to join our commercial team and that will bring strong Life Science sales experience along with a relationship network to help grow our innovation hub. This person will help build on the strong brand and scientific community already established at The Discovery Labs Life Science cluster.
Responsibilities:
Build connections with medium-large Life Sciences companies to explore partnership structures for the various offerings of Discovery Labs.
Create, engage and close an active network of life science companies’ additional capacity needs. Examples related to Real Estate, Manufacturing, Lab Research & Production.
Actively build a quantifiable market presence for the portfolio of The Discovery Labs service offerings.
Identify and engage with executive stakeholders within the Life Sciences markets.
Work with client’s executive teams to determine the feasibility and timeline to deliver potential projects/partnerships.
In partnership with the space planning team, build out complex client proposals to win business.
Oversee, manage and work with full commercial team to drive sales and marketing strategy.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our business within our markets.
Provide business development expertise and design partnering structures tailored to the profile of each envisioned collaboration.
Provide outstanding transaction skills managing the entire commercial process to secure and implement attractive opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationship with partners to ensure customer satisfaction and create new business opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree within a business-related field required.
8 years of experience designing large complex life sciences related business transactions. Real Estate preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, including its regulatory environment, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Must have documented experience navigating within the C-Suite of major Life Sciences companies.
