Experienced (3 yrs) EEC Teacher I/T and PS. We are looking for a happy, fun, developmentally appropriate teacher of young children, a committed team-player, flexible, dedicated employee, and a committed early childhood professional for our great, independent, non-profit program serving toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners. Our current need is for someone who can close (6PM), but the ideal candidate will be able to open at 7AM occasionally when needed. We prefer someone who would like to work full-time, but will entertain the possibility of well-qualified candidates who are looking for part-time/afternoon hours. The staff at Discovery Schoolhouse maintain almost everything in the classroom and in the school, from taking care of children, planning activities, and organizing the classrooms, to daily chores such as cleaning, emptying trash, and loading the dishwasher, and to feeding the chickens, gardening, and taking care of other animals. Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Ability to create and implement educational curriculum for various age groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to effectively manage behavior in a classroom setting
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player and cooperative spirit
