Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer - Grand Rapids, MichiganDISHER is currently partnering with a motorcycle manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan to fill their Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer position. What you'll get to do:
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
Collaborate with suppliers to improve incoming materials through audits and improvement plans
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance product reliability
Identify areas for enhancement and drive initiatives to improve product quality
Work closely with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive improvements
Manage quality-related risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies
Maintain strong supplier relationships through effective communication and collaboration
Monitor supplier performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed
Maintain accurate documentation of supplier quality activities and generate reports for stakeholders
What will make you successful:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
Previous experience in supplier quality engineering or related role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment, 5 year’s experience preferred
Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC)
Experience conducting audits and assessments, including knowledge of audit techniques and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, TS 16949)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective actions
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in quality management software and tools
