Dispensing Dynamics International, Inc. is Hiring a Project Manager Near San Marcos, CA

About This Role:

The Project Manager manages New Product Development and Technology Development projects in accordance with the Phase-Gate development process. Coordinates the efforts of functional leads from marketing, design, sustaining, tooling, manufacturing, automation, molding, quality, and test to ensure that the targets for performance, quality, schedule, and cost are met.

Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

  • Acts as the primary customer facing position within New Product Development Group and delivers successful projects, defined by meeting specific objectives on time and on budget.
  • Develops and maintains a project schedule. Updates and adjusts the schedule as the project advances, using it as a tool to maintain the targeted end date, communicate status to key stakeholders and follow up with assigned tasks.
  • Develops and maintains project budgets. This includes maintaining a target and actual value for capital expenses, labor, and unit cost. Keeps abreast of all issues that may impact these and works with the technical leads to find solutions. Keeps key stakeholders informed with periodic reports.
  • Prepares regular project status reports to keep both managers and key stake holders up to date on all issues and aspects of the project. Upon request, be prepared to give a more detailed explanation of the status with detailed documentation.
  • Collaborates with engineering, leadership, and key stakeholders to define project specification and scope documents prior to project kickoff.
  • Acquires input from functional areas to develop realistic project proposals that meet the needs of the key stake holders. This will include estimates on capital cost, unit cost, and schedule that will be used as a baseline to gauge project performance.
  • Works to identify and minimize risks to the requirements of the key stakeholders. Works with each functional area to develop a plan that will meet the project goals and milestones. As the project progresses be able to evaluate, communicate, escalate as required and then mitigate the perceived risks.
  • Utilizes the principles expressed in Hunter’s Corporate Values to develop and sustain collaborative and cohesive teams.
  • Travels to Hunter facilities, customer locations and industry events as required. Expected to be 5%-10% of time.
  • Actively seeks to improve both the processes and tools used as a Project Manager. Works with managers and key stake holders to identify deficient areas in the product development process and devise strategies to address these deficiencies.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Science and Technology field.
  • PMP Certification is preferred.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum four years of combined experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering and/or project management.
  • Prior experience with iQMS or other manufacturing-based software is highly preferred.

What You Bring:

  • Proficient in mechanical design and manufacturing process.
  • Ability to create and manage schedules using Microsoft Project to estimate and schedule project tasks.
  • Ability to generate and maintain project budgets.
  • Ability to provide constructive input to engineering design reviews.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers required with a strong knowledge of computerized spreadsheets.
  • Familiar with some or all the following is preferred: Mechanical design of plastic injection molded parts and assemblies; Electrical and Firmware design of embedded control products; Compliance testing such as UL, CUL, FCC, CE, C-Tick; Mold creation and tooling of plastic injection molded parts; Issues associated with a high-volume manufacturing environment; Automation and Test equipment for a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $86,230 to $123,435

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
