District 19 Community Services Board in Petersburg, Virginia, has an exciting new position and is seeking a Director of Developmental Disability Service and Compliance. This position requires a highly motivated and energetic individual to oversee all Intellectual and Developmental services within our agency.Position will be responsible for Intellectual and Developmental services and programs for children and adults and provide continuous quality assurance and improvement within the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Division. Position will be responsible for optimizing compliance, outcome measures, and reporting of a complex developmental disabilities service delivery system within the CSB. Monitoring and maximizing revenue and promoting consumer satisfaction, while maintaining a person centered approach and considering individual’s strengths and abilities. Master’s Degree in a Human Services field or Bachelor’s Degree with extensive ID/DD and supervisory experience
LMHP preferred.
QDDP with at least 5 years of supervisory experience required:
Qualified developmental disability professional" or "QDDP" means a person who possesses at least one year of documented experience working directly with individuals who have a developmental disability and who possesses one of the following credentials: (i) a doctor of medicine or osteopathy licensed in Virginia, (ii) a registered nurse licensed in Virginia, (iii) a licensed occupational therapist, or (iv) completion of at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field, including sociology, social work, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology.
Experience in clinical, supervisory, and administrative behavioral healthcare field with extensive knowledge of developmental disability services and quality assurance required. Preferred candidate will have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human services administration, business administration, and quality improvement methodologies.Extensive knowledge of intellectual and developmental service delivery programming and quality assurance requirements for CSBs per DBHDS, DMAS, and DOJ requirements. Knowledge of eligibility criteria associated with reimbursement for services; Knowledge of support services available within community to support consumer and family members; knowledge of staff credentialing and training requirements; knowledge of state reporting requirements including performance contract and quarterly reports,
Skills in the management/administration of DBHDS service delivery programming; Skills in developing developmental disability service delivery programs; skills in monitoring and evaluating developmental disability service delivery programs for compliance with established mandates; Skills in effective utilization of community resources in the provision, excellent organization and monitoring, skills in diversion strategies to prevent hospitalization when appropriate; skills in coordinating the efficient utilization of staff resources; Skills in communicating effectively in writing and verbally to varied audiences; skills in strategic planning including establishing goals and objectives; and skills in supervision of mid and upper lever managers.
Ability to exercise sound judgment; work with limited supervision; and sustain cooperative/effective working relationships with District 19 Leadership Team members, personnel of related agencies, consumers, and family members; Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality; Ability to work effectively with all types/levels of persons; ability to develop program goals and objectives and motivate staff to achieve them. Ability to effectively lead teams to achieve high levels of quality and compliance. Ability to closely monitor program expenditures, review and follow up on financial and service data reports, oversees division budget and ensures appropriate revenue and expense allocations.
Position is a Grade 220 Salaried position
Valid VA driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
