Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Title I & Grants)

District Wide

DEFINITION:

The Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Tile I & Grants) will ensure compliance with all programmatic requirements relating to grants. The Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Tile I & Grants) will assist the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in curriculum development, evaluations, tiered systems of support, and professional development as it aligns with the district strategic plan. This is a K-12 position.

PREREQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Massachusetts Educator Licensure as Supervisor/Director

Minimum: Three (3) years experience in an administrative role

SALARY:

As negotiated with and determined by the Superintendent of Schools

DUTIES:

Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and instruction to perform the following duties and responsibilities: 

  1. Writing, overseeing, and evaluating entitlement grants (Title I, Title II, Title IV) and all competitive grants related to the Curriculum and Instruction.
  2. Assist in supervising the curriculum development and implementation across the school district.
  3. Supervise Curriculum Coordinators to ensure DESE compliance with Massachusetts Standards and Frameworks.
  4. Monitor the resources utilized in the district to ensure high-quality resources are provided to all educators.
  5. Assist the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum with coordinating the educator evaluation system across the district.
  6. Spearhead special projects related to curriculum development, tiered systems of support and professional development. 
  7. Collaborate with the Director of Multilingual Learners to align district goals.
  8. Provide progress monitoring updates to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
  9. Collaborate with K-12, teachers, and administrators to develop innovative and effective curriculum resources across various subjects and grade levels.
  10. Participate in the Mentoring and Induction programs for new staff members in collaboration with Principals, the Director of Human Resources, and Assistant Superintendents
  11. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and/or Superintendent of Schools
