(Multilingual Learner) ML Coach

District Wide Elementary 

School Year 2024-2025

QUALIFICATIONS:

• DESE Certification – English as a Second Language (ESL), Prek-6
• SEI Endorsement 
• Minimum of 3 years of ML classroom experience required

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Utilize the WIDA 2020 English Proficiency Standard Framework to assist educators in supporting multilingual learners.
• Have a thorough understanding of state and federal laws relevant to multilingual learners, particularly concerning equitable access
• Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills to promote asset-based instruction and effective collaboration
• Stay informed of research-based exemplary practices, instruction and assessment centering ML students
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom practices by implementing strategies, interventions, and necessary linguistic supports and scaffolds for various proficiency levels, using the WIDA 2020 standards framework
• Support in the development and facilitation of on-site PD using WIDA and other research based best practices for MLs
• Review and analyze ACCESS and multilingual learner data to support equitable instructional practices
• Reports to ML Director
