Position Overview:

The Conceptual Design Engineer plays a fundamental role in the lifecycle of any new vehicle development. As the person responsible for proposing the general architecture of the new vehicle, the Conceptual Design Engineer must analytically demonstrate that, for a given technology level, the concept meets the established set of requirements. This role involves defining a configuration that integrates payload, energy source, and power generation within a structural arrangement that is efficient, controllable, stable, manufacturable, and cost-effective. 

In the early stages of a program, the Conceptual Design Engineer functions as a Chief Engineer, owning and developing the concept until it is ready to pass on to the Detail Design stage. Responsibilities include evaluating performance, defining requirements, exploring alternative concepts, and supporting business development efforts and company strategy definition.

Basic Qualifications:

- Masters’s in Aerospace Engineering or related field with 10 years of experience in A&D. 

- Proficiency in conceptual design principles, including sizing, configuration, and trade studies. 

- Strong analytical skills and experience with design tools and methods. 

- Knowledge of aerodynamics, structures, stability and control, and propulsion systems. 

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

- Excellent communication skills and ability to prepare and present to stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Secret Security Clearance. 

- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a relevant discipline 20 years of experience in A&D. 

- Previous experience in eVTOL design or related fields. 

- Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) practices. 

- Certification expertise or project management skills. 

- Passion for staying abreast of emerging technologies.
